Tijdens het interbellum hielden de Britten eraan het Verenigd Koninkrijk en het Britse Rijk op een homogene wijze tentoon te stellen op grote internationale tentoonstellingen.  De paviljoenen in Antwerpen, Brussel en Parijs, ontworpen  door verschillende architecten, vertoonde duidelijke gelijkenissen.  Het gebruik van een leeuw als symbool voor het Britse Rijk werd overgenomen van de British Empire Exhibition (1924 - 1925) en herhaald op de volgende internationale evenementen.  Het werk van de beeldhouwers Benjamin Clemens en Frans Jochems is in bovenstaande link naast elkaar gezet.

In the middle of the intra war period of the 20th century Great Britain and by extension the complete British Empire was represented in a recognisable style at important international exhibitions.  The pavillions erected in Antwerp, Brussels and Paris bore some resemblance to each other although designed by different architects. The Lion theme used at the British Empire Exhibition (1924 - 1925)  was often used in the major exhibitions at that time.
